"Lee Long Looi was born in Kedah, Malaysia in 1942 and passed away on February 23, 2023. Lee had a long and accomplished career as an artist, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful works cherished by many. After graduating from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, Lee Looi moved to New York to further his studies at the Art Students League, later receiving a scholarship to study at Pratt Institute. Looi had a series of solo and group exhibitions both in the U.S. and internationally. His work incorporated elements of his Asian heritage, along with a strong technique derived from Western teachings, resulting in a style uniquely his own. Long Looi Lee's artwork captured the beauty and essence of the world around us, and his passion for his craft was evident in every brushstroke. He was a true master of his art, and his pieces will continue to inspire and delight generations to come.
