Born 1963 in Penang, Khoo Cheang Jin loves art since young. He has been painting actively since graduated from the School of Architecture in UNSW, Australia.
He likes to travel, and the streetscapes, old buildings and local people he visited and encountered with become the most loved subject for his expression in watercolours and sketches.
He has thus far held 12 solo exhibitions in Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Taiwan, and numerous local and overseas group shows. He has won many art awards in Singapore and Malaysia, and his watercolours are in the collections of many individuals and institutions.
He is a Signature Member of National Watercolor Society, member of Singapore Watercolour Society, Malaysian Watercolour Society and Penang Art Society.
He is the co-founder of Urban Sketchers Penang and currently serves as the President of Penang Water Colour Society. He also teaches part-time at The One Academy Penang.
