Carina Lok-peipei, is a self-taught artist and she graduated from University of Southern Queensland, Australia with a Master in Business Administration (MBA) in 2006. She was formerly a Senior Brand Manager of Top 5 MNC in the international pharmaceutical industry and now a homemaker.
She practised art therapy to express her emotions on paper at first and since then has developed a great affection in painting. She joined Sketchwalk KL and Kuala Lumpur Urban Sketcher in 2019 and later Urban Sketcher Penang in 2021. She is also a member of Penang Art Society in 2022.
Although she started as a watercolorist she also enjoys painting in gouache, graphite, acrylics and oil. Her focused subjects are landscape, cityscape, portraits, still life and urban sketching.
By using light tones, she brings the daily lives of the everyday activities of the people in all walks of life and transforms that into art. Her works capture the moment of humans interacting with each other and objects behind a picturesque scenery.
