Black Shepherd II, Oil on Stonehenge card, 29.7 cm X 32 cm
Description: The piece is based on the series I did to show the naturaliness and deep culture of the African Massai tribes who many have thought to only rear cattles. But showing a softer side of the tribe with flocks of sheeps and goats portrayed them in a more dynamic perspective.
Black shepherd III, Acrylic on Stonehenge card, 29.7 cm x 32 cm
Description:
The black Shepherds is a series of paintings that seeks to portray the unpopular culture of the Massai tribes in Africa. Their uniqueness and yet, cultural multiplicity attracted me to render their lifestyles in my painting. One of the most interesting findings i stumbled upon while doing the project was that the popular knowledge about the Massai people was that they predominantly originated and domicilled in Kenya and only rared cattles. However, they are spread accross some part of East and West Africa and also rared sheeps and and other smaller domesticated animals.
